I was reading the first book of harry potter, and in the book the team that gets the snitch or little gold ball as in your game, they get finishing points. And I was woundering will your game ever have this feature? If not could we send extra money to have it added on there vershion? Ether way this game ROCKS!!!

Yep, that is in the full version. You can choose how many points the team that catches the gold ball gets.

Although I am 18, I am an avid reader of Harry Potter and Am taking my brothers to see the movie on the 16 of Nov. when it comes out here in the states. Anyway, I can't wait to see the look on my brothers faces when they see the game, they will be in heaven, keep up the good work. P.S. I think I know what I am getting my brothers for Christmas! They are the best series of books ever! Written by JK Rowling! Ignoring those books is like ignoring the fact that you have feet! Go to a librabry or something, but man get with it and read the books? Who hee in this guest book agrees???

Marty, I'm glad you still love the game. Thanks!

  • Comments: Hello, again! I've got a couple ideas. (1) Make a Broomsticks Hall of Fame. That way we'll all know who has been playing! (2) Every once in a while, sneak a referee (is that spelled right?)into the Advanced Demo. If you bump into him, he'll get mad and take away 10 points.(Good idea, huh?) (3) Make a little trophy image that we can paste onto our websites to show that we are fans of the game! (end of ideas) By the way, has anyone else noticed? The Harry Potter movie is coming out THIS FRIDAY! (Gives out long, loud, and very annoying scream.) Sorry, I just wanted to know if you noticed. 8^D

Aaron, those are good suggestions! Thanks!

  • Comments: Hey, I was wondering if this game was really based on the Harry Potter books when you first started it, or was it just a 'Race around and put a red ball in a bubble-blower at the end of a field' kind of "Spark" you may have gotten when you were going for a quiet walk? Did you introduce the gold ball, and black balls after you read the Harry Potter books? Otherwise, the game is very unique in its own way, i like the 2D thing. If you could possibly send me some links to some other quidditch games at chakramguy@hotmail.com I would greatly apreciate it. (( P.S. : Please don't send me the harrypotter.com games, because I have played them out. ))

Good question! I made the game about a year ago because a friend told me I should! :-) However, the gameplay (the way players fly) is based on a game that I made a long time ago, before Harry Potter.

Actually, I'm not sure what other games are out there. I searched a while back and found a couple but they didn't work too well.

  • Comments: Hi. Ok, so Broomsticks is around $20 AUS. Cool, I can save up a bit more =) What's that Broomsticks 3D Game like so far? Does it have any menus or options (or even cheats)? Must be a great game. What's it like working at NCSA? Actually, where is NCSA?! I'm so full of questions today now that I got some really good chocolate =) Was making the Cave games hard? I better stop asking questions. See ya!

    :-)

So far, you fly around and try to catch gold balls in a deserted castle. It's fun but pretty simple. I'm hoping to add more to it soon.

Working at NCSA is amazing. It's in the middle of Illinois, an hour drive south of Chicago. Making CAVE games is pretty hard because the interface is completely different (and better!) than your regular mouse/keyboard setup. You can read about it on my website.

I have a suggestion if anyone cares: maybe you could add quidditch TEAMS to the game. like baseball games where they tell you the teams ratings on a bar graph. Just a suggestion E-mail me if you like it.

Hmmm... that image loads fine for me. I'll probably remove it, since the Advanced demo is no longer a new item on the website.

I'm not sure about shooting the red ball, but passing in 2v2 mode is a good idea!

I don't mean to sound like I'm angry or complaining or anything like tht, but I only saw one of my player lists in there =( Could there be a bug in the Java Options Programming? My items list is almost finished, I just need to get to another computer that actually e-mails stuff =) See ya. (PS: My e-mail isn't at TPG anymore, it's 006085@cooroorashs.qld.edu.au)

    Matthew,

those spaces are not used right now. In the advanced demo, there should be 4 options for "Players image". The "Invisibility" players should be the last in the list (playersPaul.gif).

I'm interested to see what you have done with the items.
