    Steve,

you should be able to grab them from the skins gallery. Then, put them in the game directory. To use one of the skin packs, make sure it is the only one with a .zip extension (rename all others, removing extension).

    Nope, not yet.

  • Comments: When I downloaded the demo version of Broomsticks 3d and there were no computer players! I thought that when I get the full version; there would be computer players; but there were none! And when I catch the gold ball; I dont get any points. The same thing happened when I throw the red ball through one of the hoops. Do you think you should add computer players and points in the 3d version; And beaters and keepers in the regular version. And why arent the red balls called quaffles and the gold balls called golden snitches

I do plan to add a computer opponent. When that happens, I will make an upgrade available to owners of the Full Version.

I can't use those names because of copyright issues.

  • Comments: Great game. For a while I have been looking for a Quidditch game and I couldnt find one. Once I found a game that said the closest you will ever get to playing Quidditch. The game was only a golden ball flying around the screen and you had to click on it to win LOL! Your game is the closest you will ever get to playing Quidditch.

Thanks Steven! I'm glad you like the game!

  • Comments: Broomsticks is great; but shouldnt you include beaters or keepers

True, but that might make the gameplay too complicated. Right now, it is simple yet fun.

  • Comments: Steven z: Paul has not got sound on Broomsticks 3D yet. On the Full Version of Broomsticks 3D when you score a goal with a red ball you should get 10 points. (Score is at the top of the screen). Paul is still working on getting a computer opponent on the game.--They are called "red, black, and gold balls" because of copyright laws on the words "Quaffle, Bludger, and Golden Snitch.

Paul: I'm learning JavaScript and HTML right now and it's really cool!

    Daniel,

thanks for answering Steven's question. I've been very busy lately and so it has been hard to keep up with the guestbook. Thanks for your help!

    Daniel,

I use Java but I do not do much Javascript, so I am not sure. I'm sure you can find some info about this online.

  • Comments: How do you make skins

Good question. I need to make a tutorial. For now, here are the basic steps:

    1) Unzip a skin pack (using Winzip or pkunzip) 2) go into directories that were unzipped 3) edit images (textures) using your favorite paint program 4) run the game (it will pick up new skins from the directories) 5) when you are done, zip the directories back up into a zip file and send it to me.

Hmmm... this probably means that there is something wrong with transparency. It could be your OpenGL drivers. You may want to update if there are newer ones available for your graphics card.

  • Comments: I also like Daniels idea about things other than brooms in the castle. I think that you should put something like a locked door with a really fast broomstick behind it so the player has to find a key; and unlock the door to get the broom.

    Steven,

    that is a good idea.

  • Comments: Hi Paul. I'm currently re-downloading the BR3D Demo. When does this one expire? Because I'm going to go down to Victoria to see my Nanna and Pa for Christmas and I don't want to come back and see the demo saying it has expired. And I won't be able to download it again because my internet time will run out on the 6th of December (First week of Year 10 Holidays =D Ha ha Year Eights and Nines! You too Grade Ones - Sevens!) My Kirby MegaMix Character Set is coming along nicely. I still have to grab more images from Kirby's Adventure, but it will look cool!

The current demo is good until the end of November.

I look forward to seeing your new characters! It has been a while since someone has sent in new characters.

    Mike,

something must be wrong with your email because I've been replying to your emails. It is either that or some of your emails are not getting through to me.

Yes, your images for the hands holding the broomstick have made a huge difference. I will give you proper credit when I put up the items gallery. Sorry for the delay! Also, I still plan to use your 3D model for the computer opponent. I've just not had enough time to work on it. :-|

I could only find three other brooms; but there are two other brooms in the demo version and it says that there are more brooms and powerups. Also what does it mean in the demo version when it says powerups?

Have you found the invisibility powerup in the Full Version?

  • Comments: Hey Paul. I said this one time before I think but, for the next update on the demo I think you should change the controls. Because, for me any way, it would be a lot easier to just click the left mouse button to throw the Quaffle instead of having to reach across and hit enter. Just a thought. --Thanks

P.S. When are you going to start the contest for skies and brooms?

    Daniel,

yep, you are right, that would be better. I will try to do that for the next version.

I will probably start new contests at the beginning of January.

  • Comments: Hey, I have a few suggestions. When you update Broomsticks 3D could you make it so you have to buy faster brooms with money that you win by beating the oppenent. It's too easy to find the current brooms. Also for the snitch, could you make it zoom all around the castle so you have to chase it through everything. That would make it more fun. Oh, and when you add opponents could you also add the option for team mates so someone could just be the seeker and someone could just be the chaser. Could you also make walls around the castle so it doesn't look like you can fly out but you then run right into an invisible wall. I know this seems like alot but it would make this great game much better. Also it would make it a little more "re-playable."

    Zack,

those are all very good suggestions. Allowing the gold ball to fly anywhere will be quite easy. I should make that an option.

That would be cool but it would be a lot of work. I may do that later on, but there are bunch of other things I have to do first. :-)

I just did a search on that website, Harry Potter's Tower (www.geocities.com/harrypotterstower is still going strong!) and I found my own guestbook entry AND the link back to your website! I had been looking for it as we got rid of AOL and i lost the link (it was on my favorites list that was deleted.). I am so glad to have found it again! Seems like you have been working hard! Broomsticks 3D looks great--keep up the good work! AND you have expanded just like my little seventh going on the eighth grader self told you to. ;-) I hope that your ten pack is going well and I wish you the best of luck in all that you are doing! ~katie
