We participated in a VR workshop about “Visualization to Support Human Decision-Making” as it relates to the nuclear power generation industry. The workshop was co-sponsored by the Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering (NPRE) at the University of Illinois and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
The workshop brought together academic researchers, nuclear utility executives, and industry experts from around the world. Technology demonstrations included the VisBox-SX12 system at the NPRE deparment. Discussions centered around the application of VR and visualization technologies to areas such as training, construction/maintenance/decomission planning, and radiation visualization/dosage reduction.
